It was pretty good. Re-read this so I would be ready to read the rest of the series.

This book was just okay. Overhyped, but I don't regret reading it.

Review: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - Mary Ann Shaffer, Annie Barrows

This book is written as a series of letters from a female author to those she is close with and new friends. The book is set just after WWII and it is all about this author who receives a letter from a man on the island of Guernsey. He talks about how they started a literary society during the war and how he was given a book second hand that had once belonged to her. Through their correspondence this young woman falls in love with the island of Guernsey and all of the characters who live there.

Personal Thoughts: I think this book is adorable! I loved the main character's personality, I thought she was witty, and quite cheeky, but I adored her. I love the whole idea of the story and how it isn't your usual love story. While the author does fall in love, that isn't the focus, it is all about her growing love for the island. I loved the characters, I feel like they are all very well done, they are well balanced and complement each other nicely! I did get a little bored halfway through, but it definitely picks up once you hit the second part of the book.

Altogether I enjoyed this book! I wish it wasn't as long winded in part one. I also feel like I have a reading slump coming on...which I am not happy about! Thanks so much for reading!

Have a fabulous day lovelies!

Yours truly, signing off!
